Jigsaw Law settles claim for injury caused by steam iron
Jigsaw Law have secured a successful compensation settlement for a client injured by a faulty Russell Hobbs steam iron.
Due to a technical fault it exploded in her hand causing scalding to her thumb and wrist. Russell Hobbs stated that the power cable had failed at the point of entry into the protective sleeve of the handle.
“The Defendant initially dealt directly with the client, offering £80 in full and final settlement, despite her burns and scarring,” explains Craig Hamilton of Jigsaw Law. “Whilst still denying any liability they eventually settled the claim for considerably more, after Jigsaw Law became involved.”
Our client, Sue from Crewe in Cheshire, told us “the service I received was excellent, I could not fault anything, I was kept informed at all times and the emails were kept short and to the point. I was guided throughout the process as to what I needed to do and what to expect. Craig was excellent.”
Jigsaw Law obtained a medical report from an independent expert, to comment on the extent and severity of the injuries. This evidence helped secure an award of compensation for the client, to settle her claim.
“I was advised as to what level of compensation to roughly expect and this was achieved, I could not have been any happier with the result. I am delighted with the result and service provided” added Sue.
