Our charity partners
Jigsaw Law has a calendar of events that sees our colleagues get involved with everything from running to baking and fancy dress, all in aid of good causes! At Jigsaw Law we’re proud to raise funds to support Claire House Children’s Hospice and the Helsby Golf Club Powered Wheelchair Appeal, whilst building partnerships that help make a lasting difference to local communities.
Claire House Children’s Hospice
Claire House opened its doors in 1999 providing a service for children with life threatening or life limiting conditions and their families from Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, West Lancashire and the Isle of Man. Claire House now provide care for over 300 families in a home-from-home environment, and gives children and their families the opportunity to experience a place of fun and laughter, enjoyment, love and support.
A team of Jigsaw Law staff ran the Chester Half Marathon in 2014, raising over £2,000 in sponsorship funds for Claire House.
Helsby Golf Club Powered Wheelchair Appeal
We are active supporters of The Powered Wheelchair Appeal, which has been in existence since 1983 and was formed when a club member witnessed Seve Ballesteros presenting powered wheelchairs to handicapped children at the 1983 Open Golf Championship. Seeing the overjoyed faces of these youngsters as they received their chairs was unforgettable and inspired Helsby Golf Club to help. As wheelchairs can cost in excess of £10,000, the Powered Wheelchair Appeal raises vital funds through local events, raffles and the ‘Wheelchair Classic’, which sees golf club members and supporters come together to compete and fundraise in a fun-filled charity golf day.
The Appeal is a registered charity governed by the Charities Commission and has gone from strength to strength, presenting over 300 state of the art wheelchairs during the past 30 years to local children with special needs, giving them the independence and self-confidence that they deserve.
The Helsby Golf Club Powered Wheelchair Appeal is affiliated to the Peter Alliss National Crusade and is proud to be the most successful fundraising golf club in the UK. Peter is a great supporter of the Powered Wheelchair Appeal and is an honorary member of Helsby Golf Club.
